Yury Gaponov, "The development of the neutrino concept in twentieth century particle physics."
The main stages in the development of theoretical and experimental neutrino physics will be presented. These include:
- The riddles of beta-ray spectra (1899-1920s).
- The formulation of the neutrino concept (1929-1937).
- Experimental observation of nuclei and particle decay (1930s-1950s).
- New theory of the 1950s and the birth of the Standard Model (SM) (1955-1967).
- Experimental verification of SM (1950s-1984).
- Search for a theory beyond SM (1980s).
- Experimental search for phenomena beyond SM (1980s-1990s).
